DFW Instruments - Repairs Warranty Policy
Equipment which have been repaired and recertified will carry a 90 day limited warranty for use in pleasure or Corporate Aircraft Operators and a 45 day limited warranty for use in Commercial Airline or Flight Simulators. This limited warranty only covers the specific sections in which preventive maintenance or corrective actions were performed to correct defects on initial repair. This limited warranty covers all workmanship on labor performed and any parts replaced on the previous repair.
Not all equipment on our Capabilities Listing can be quoted a flat rate overhaul price, but those which can will be promptly given via phone or fax.
Conditions of Price Quote
All prices are given under the condition that the type and part number of equipment quoted are the same as received for the overhaul quote and can be returned to overhaul condition within our standard overhaul cost. The determination as to the condition of equipment received for overhaul and the cost required to return it to overhaul condition will be made after testing and visual inspection of the quoted equipment.
Flat Rate Overhaul
Equipment under this type of overhaul will carry a six (6) month limited warranty for use in pleasure or Corporate Aircraft Operators and three (3) months for use in Commercial Airlines or Flight Simulators. This limited warranty covers all workmanship on labor performed and any parts replaced during standard overhaul. Electric components are excluded, due to their unpredictability. Examples: IC Chips, Transistors, Coils, Stators, Sensors, Etc.
Time and Material Overhaul
Equipment under this type of overhaul will carry a ninety (90) day limited warranty for use in pleasure or Corporate Aircraft Operators and a thirty (30) day limited warranty for use in Commercial Airlines or Flight Simulators. This limited warranty covers all workmanship on labor performed and any parts replaced to return equipment to overhaul condition. Time and material overhauls will not be quoted without prior evaluation of equipment. Common reasons for equipment to be chosen as time and material overhaul are due to parts availability, fluctuating part price. Equipment history reflects varying requirements to return to overhaul condition. For these and other reasons no fixed price can be established for return to overhaul condition until equipment is evaluated.
Return of Unused Equipment
In the event a unit shipped for an Exchange or Rental requirement must be returned unused, in it's original unopened packaging, via appropriate shipping methods within five (5) business days of the purchase date. Due to changing needs or for any other reason, prior authorization for the return shipment is required. Please contact James Zollo at 972-478-2504. DFW will charge a 20% restocking fee to cover cost of shipping, re-certification and restocking of the unused equipment, unless the unit is returned within five (5) business days of the purchase date. Custom charges, import duties, brokerage fees and other related charges are the responsibility of and must be paid by the customer. DFW reserves the option to invoice the customer for any costs incurred in the recertification of any unit returned for credit. No discount applies.
Warranty consideration will only be given if equipment fails to meet manufacturers regulations, final tests or alignment specifications. In any warranty repair, DFW reserves the right to replace equipment found to exceed reasonable cost to return to service. If any unit returned for claimed warranty is found to be functional with no defects, DFW reserves the right to invoice the customer for any costs incurred in the recertification of that unit. Warranty repair at any non-DFW facility must receive prior written approval from James Zollo at DFW. Failure to receive such prior approval will result in nonpayment of repair charges. The seller shall have no other obligation or liability, whether under this order or otherwise on account of such articles. In no event, shall the seller be liable for the loss of use or for incidental, indirect or consequential damages. DFW assumes no responsibility for cost of: removal, installation, shipping, down time, unusual or related damages. Any equipment warranty given on repair or overhaul is voided if equipment is found with: broken or missing seals, improper shipping or handling, altered, damaged by related equipment or abused.
